HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has announced an extension for citizens to participate in the ongoing caste census, allowing those who missed the initial registration to submit their details by February 28.
Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar urged all eligible citizens to take advantage of this opportunity to ensure their inclusion in the state’s population records.
Referring to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s vision of social justice, the minister reiterated that the state government was committed to implementing the Kamareddy Declaration, ensuring fair opportunities in political, educational, and employment sectors. He emphasised that the government is determined to legally secure 42% reservations for backward communities.
Registration Process and Helpline
To facilitate the registration process, a toll-free helpline (040-211 11111) has been set up. Citizens who were unable to participate in the survey can call this number, after which enumerators will visit their homes to collect details. Additionally, registrations can be completed at MPDO offices, ward offices, or through the official online portal: https://seeepsurvey.cgg.gov.in.
According to official data, 3,56,323 families have yet to participate in the caste survey. The minister urged these families to register to ensure their eligibility for government welfare schemes. He also called upon community leaders, intellectuals, and professors to spread awareness and encourage participation in the census.
