Hyderabad: The Telangana government has granted ₹1 crore ex gratia to each of the families of two police personnel who lost their lives while on duty. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy presented the cheques during a public meeting held in Bardipur village, Dichpally mandal, Nizamabad district.
Excise Constable Gajula Soumya recently died in the line of duty. The Chief Minister handed over the financial aid to her mother and other family members on behalf of the State.
Constable Pramod’s family also receives support
The government also awarded ₹1 crore ex gratia to the family of Police Constable Pramod. He was fatally stabbed by miscreants last year while discharging his duties. His family accepted the assistance directly from the Chief Minister at the event.
This ex gratia support was part of the ‘Praja Palana – Pragathi Bata’ programme. The Congress-led administration launched the initiative to address grassroots civic issues and engage directly with citizens.
