Telangana Youth Congress leader slams Centre over ‘Beti Bachao’ slogan on Girl Child Day

Hyderabad: Telangana Youth Congress State General Secretary Almas Khan criticised the BJP-led Central Government on National Girl Child Day, calling its “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” slogan a hollow publicity gimmick. This statement was seen by many as Beti Bachao slogan criticism coming from the Congress party’s youth wing.

Congress: Slogan without substance fails girls and has led to widespread Beti Bachao slogan criticism across several sections of society.

During a press briefing, Almas Khan said the scheme’s failure is evident in rising crimes against girls, high dropout rates, widespread malnutrition, anaemia, and continued child marriages. He accused the BJP of focusing on slogans while neglecting real action for the country’s daughters. In fact, Beti Bachao slogan criticism has become a recurring theme in such discussions.

According to him, the government allocates crores on paper but delivers little at the ground level, especially for girls from poor, rural, minority, SC, and ST backgrounds. He pointed out the lack of investment in education, health, safety, nutrition, and skills, arguing that the BJP only highlights the issue around elections. Moreover, public Beti Bachao slogan criticism has increased near election cycles.

He contrasted this with the Telangana Congress government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, which he said prioritises real empowerment. The Congress government, he noted, supports education, healthcare, and economic independence for girls, helping them grow with dignity and equal opportunity.

Almas Khan urged that National Girl Child Day must go beyond symbolic events. He argued that a country that neglects its daughters cannot call itself developed. For the Congress party, he said, empowering the girl child is about building the nation not electoral gains.

He called on the Central Government to stop misleading the public with slogans and instead adopt real, measurable actions to uplift every girl child in the country.
