Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee on Tuesday marked the birth anniversary of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy with a commemorative message recalling his welfare-driven governance.
In a public post, the party described Reddy as a “visionary leader” who brought wide-reaching reforms favouring farmers and low-income communities during his tenure. The message emphasised his legacy of development schemes and social welfare initiatives that, it said, continue to influence governance in the region.
Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, popularly known as YSR, served as Andhra Pradesh’s chief minister from 2004 until his death in 2009. His administration is often credited with launching flagship health and irrigation projects that expanded rural access to essential services.
The Congress party’s homage focused on the enduring relevance of his policies, particularly for marginalised groups.
