Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will chair the Telangana cabinet meeting at the Secretariat, where ministers will take up key administrative and political issues.
The cabinet will meet at 3 pm to review several pending matters. Among them, the Telangana cabinet meeting will examine the recent High Court verdict on the Justice P.C. Ghosh Commission report related to the Kaleshwaram project.
The court faulted the commission for issuing its report without serving notices to the accused. It also directed the government not to act on the report for now.
Telangana cabinet meeting to decide on RTC strike and recruitment
The cabinet will decide whether to challenge the verdict in the Supreme Court. Alternatively, it may consider speeding up a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities.
Meanwhile, the ongoing RTC workers’ strike has drawn the government’s attention. Employees launched the agitation with 32 demands, including wage revision and regularisation.
The government will discuss these demands and explore ways to end the strike. At the same time, it aims to ensure that public transport services do not face prolonged disruption.
The cabinet will also take a final call on filling vacancies across various government departments. In addition, it may approve fresh recruitment notifications.
Officials will place proposals on land allocation for companies planning to set up industries in the state. Further, the cabinet may clear these proposals to support industrial expansion.
After completing sarpanch and municipal elections, the government has shifted focus to MPTC and ZPTC polls. Therefore, the cabinet is likely to finalise the election schedule during the meeting.
