Telangana Assembly hears disqualification cases against defected MLAs

Hyderabad: The Telangana Assembly Speaker’s office resumed hearings on Saturday in the MLA disqualification case related to party defections. Speaker Gaddam Prasad questioned MLAs Tella Venkat Rao and Sanjay on allegations of crossing party lines.

Lawyers representing MLA KP Vivek cross-examined Venkat Rao. In a separate session, legal counsel for MLA Jagadish Reddy cross-examined Sanjay. These hearings are part of the ongoing process to decide disqualification petitions against defected MLAs.

MLA disqualification case: Assembly intensifies inquiry process

Earlier, the Speaker concluded hearings for MLAs Arikepudi Gandhi and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy. Investigations involving Prakash Goud and Kale Yadayya ended on October 1. Hearings for Gudem Mahipal Reddy and Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy concluded on October 4.

However, proceedings for six other MLAs faced multiple delays. Among them, Kadiyam Srihari and Danam Nagender have not yet replied to the Speaker’s notices. The Speaker is expected to question them on Sunday.
