Sridhar Babu urges Utah investors to partner with Telangana

Hyderabad: Minister for IT and Industries D. Sridhar Babu on Friday invited Utah investors to explore Telangana partnerships, describing the state as a national model in Ease of Doing Business.

During a meeting with a high-level delegation from the U.S. state of Utah, Sridhar Babu emphasised the Telangana government’s shift from conventional investment models to sustainable partnerships focused on global value chains and innovation.

The visiting delegation was led by David Carlebach, Managing Director and COO of World Trade Center–Utah. It included representatives from aerospace, defence, advanced manufacturing, AI-driven healthcare, life sciences, clean energy, and education sectors.

Talks focused on areas such as innovation, technology transfer, joint research and skill development. Sridhar Babu presented Telangana’s industrial policies and outlined sector-specific incentives and reforms aimed at promoting investor confidence.

He invited the delegation to connect Utah-based start-ups, including those from Silicon Slopes, with Telangana’s innovation hubs such as T-Hub, T-Works and WE-Hub.

The Minister proposed academic collaborations in emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and cybersecurity between Telangana institutions and Utah universities including the University of Utah, Brigham Young University, and Neumont University.

Sridhar Babu also expressed readiness to build a long-term partnership between Telangana and Utah that extends beyond trade and investment into areas such as technology and skill-building.

In response, Carlebach noted that Utah was eager to collaborate with Telangana, describing it as a fast-growing and progressive state.

The delegation included Utah House representatives Jason Thompson, Matt McPherson and Nicole McPherson, along with business leaders such as Lifetime President BJ Hawke, JKD President Mike Nelson, Monere AI CEO Mou Nandi, Bharat Valley Advisors’ Steve Wood and Sunhash Lodde, Equip Social Impact Technologies Founder Lakshminarayana, and IIRF representative Souley.
