Hyderabad: Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Tuesday dismissed claims that senior Telangana Ministers held a secret meeting. He described the allegations as misleading and politically motivated.
According to him, the Ministers gathered at Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s residence for a routine coordination session. The agenda included administrative matters and preparations for the upcoming municipal elections.
Ministers travelled openly from Lok Bhavan event
“The Cabinet functions as a collective unit. Coordination among Ministers on governance-related issues is our duty to ensure effective administration,” Sridhar Babu stated.
To counter the “secret meeting” charge, he explained that all Ministers arrived together in one vehicle after attending the ‘At Home’ event at Lok Bhavan. Their movements were entirely in public view, he pointed out.
He criticised the spread of “false narratives” on social media and by some media outlets. He said internal discussions between constitutional functionaries reflect responsible governance and urged that no one distort them.
Discussions on election strategy, he noted, are a routine aspect of political planning. “Portraying such discussions as secretive is unwarranted,” he asserted.
While reaffirming the government’s openness to scrutiny, Sridhar Babu cautioned that speculative reporting and personal attacks erode the quality of democratic discourse. He urged journalists to uphold responsible reporting and contribute to the State’s development.
