BRS MLC Sravan questions Congress over conflicting stands on urea shortage

Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dr Dasoju Sravan criticised the Congress party for what he called “contradictory and confused” positions on the issue of urea shortage in Telangana. In a post on social media, Sravan questioned why Telangana Congress MPs were staging protests in Delhi while the state’s ministers were simultaneously claiming there was no shortage.

Sravan pointed to Congress MPs submitting a petition to the Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers and holding a demonstration in front of Parliament, joined by senior party leader Priyanka Gandhi. He contrasted this with Telangana Congress ministers’ statements dismissing any shortage and accusing the BRS of inciting unrest among farmers.

Congress urea shortage contradiction sparks political crossfire

“If there is no shortage, why stage a protest in Delhi?” Sravan asked, tagging Congress MP Ponnam Prabhakar. He accused the Congress of indulging in “confused, inconsistent” politics and playing with the lives of farmers through what he termed a dual-faced approach.

The remarks come amid ongoing political blame games over the availability and distribution of fertilisers in Telangana.
