Hyderabad: Speed up H-CITI SRDP works to ease mounting traffic congestion, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan directed officials during a high-level review meeting on Tuesday.
He instructed departments to accelerate projects under H-CITI, the Strategic Road Development Programme and the Strategic Nala Development Programme. The meeting took place at the GHMC Head Office and covered works across all city zones.
Zonal Commissioners, project engineers and officials from planning, irrigation and land acquisition departments attended the review. Officials presented updates on project status, field-level challenges and reasons for delays.
Speed up H-CITI SRDP works in mission mode
Karnan said there was no shortage of funds for the ongoing projects. Therefore, he asked officials to fast-track utility shifting and pending land acquisition. He also directed them to escalate unresolved government-related issues immediately for intervention.
The Commissioner ordered that the Musarambagh High-Level Bridge and the Nalgonda X Roads flyover be completed in mission mode by June 2. In addition, he sought faster execution of works related to the KBR Park project.
He stressed the need for close coordination with traffic police to minimise inconvenience to commuters during construction.
Zonal Commissioners Anuraag Jayanti and G. Mukunda Reddy, Chief Engineer Sahadev Ratnakar, LA Special Deputy Collector Ramadevi and other senior engineering officials attended the meeting.
