Hyderabad: With passenger demand on the rise, South Central Railway has announced the extension of 26 special trains between Charlapalli and Tirupati through the month of July, aimed at easing congestion during peak travel days.
Train No. 07017 will operate from Charlapalli to Tirupati on Fridays and Saturdays, arriving the following day. The return service, Train No. 07018, will depart from Tirupati on Saturdays and Mondays, reaching Charlapalli the next day. These services will run from July 4 to 27 (for 07017) and from July 5 to 28 (for 07018), covering weekends when demand typically surges.
These trains will halt at several key stations in both directions, including Malkajgiri, Kacheguda, Umdanagar, Shadnagar, Jadcherla, Mahbubnagar, Wanaparthi Road, Gadwal, Kurnool City, Dhone, Gooty, Tadipatri, Yerraguntla, Kadapa, Ontimitta, Razampeta, and Renigunta. The rakes will feature a mix of First AC cum Second AC, Second AC, Third AC, Sleeper, and General Second Class coaches.
Additionally, Train No. 07251 will run from Charlapalli to Tirupati on Wednesdays, reaching its destination on Thursdays. Its counterpart, Train No. 07252, will make the return journey from Tirupati to Charlapalli on Thursdays, concluding the trip the same day. These trains are scheduled to operate from July 2 to 30 (07251) and July 3 to 31 (07252).
The second pair of special trains will traverse a different route, with stops at Jangaon, Kazipet, Warangal, Nekkonda, Mahbubabad, Khammam, Vijayawada, Tenali, Chirala, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur, Venkatagiri, Sri Kalahasti, and Renigunta. Like the first set, they will offer a range of coach classes including 1AC, 2AC, 3AC, Sleeper, and General Second Class.
This move is part of the railway’s effort to handle the expected holiday-season rush while offering greater travel flexibility to passengers heading to and from the temple town of Tirupati.
