Hissar Express escapes accident after engine wheel breaks

Hyderabad: A major accident was averted after the Hissar Express developed a technical fault near Uppal railway station in Hanumakonda district.

The train was travelling from Hissar to Secunderabad with hundreds of passengers on board. Railway officials said the locomotive pilot noticed a broken wheel in the engine and immediately stopped the train.

The incident occurred near Madipally Gate close to Uppal railway station. Alert action by railway staff prevented a serious mishap.

Due to the fault, the train remained stranded on the track for nearly four hours. Passengers faced inconvenience as the train halted in a deserted stretch.

Railway technical staff rushed to the spot after receiving information. They carried out preliminary repairs to stabilise the train.

Later, officials arranged another engine from Kazipet. The replacement locomotive slowly pulled the train to Uppal railway station.

Railway authorities then made arrangements to ensure passengers could continue their journey safely.

Meanwhile, senior railway officials ordered an inquiry into the incident. Investigators will examine whether the problem occurred due to track conditions or poor engine maintenance.
