Singareni profit-sharing payout of ₹596 crore announced for workers

Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Tuesday announced a Singareni profit-sharing payout of ₹596 crore for 38,737 permanent employees ahead of Dasara. Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said each permanent employee would receive an average of ₹1,53,912.

Additionally, the government announced a bonus of ₹5,500 each for 29,717 contract workers of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). Addressing a press conference at Praja Bhavan alongside IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Bhatti outlined the government’s decisions.

He said the government had approved the distribution of 34 per cent of the company’s annual net profits among permanent employees. Bhatti Vikramarka said Singareni Collieries had earned a net profit of ₹1,754 crore during the year.

Of this amount, the government decided to distribute ₹596 crore among permanent employees as their share of the profits. The Deputy Chief Minister said the decision continued the profit-sharing practice followed in previous years.

He also stressed that the government remained committed to protecting the interests of permanent employees and contract workers. Accordingly, the government retained the ₹5,500 bonus for contract workers, matching the amount paid during the previous year. The Singareni profit-sharing payout formed part of the financial benefits announced for employees ahead of the Dasara festival.

House-site pattas to be expedited under GO 76

Bhatti Vikramarka also addressed the long-standing demand of Singareni employees and workers for residential properties. He said the government was determined to help workers realise their aspiration of owning houses.

The Deputy Chief Minister directed Singareni management to accelerate the issuance of house-site pattas to eligible beneficiaries. The instructions covered approximately 1,250 acres of remaining land under Government Order No. 76.

He asked the management to expedite the process so eligible workers could receive their house-site documents. The Deputy Chief Minister also reviewed pending dependent employment appointments in Singareni Collieries.

He said approximately 250 to 300 dependent employment orders remained pending because officials had yet to complete the required formalities. Therefore, he directed the authorities to complete those procedures within the next 15 days.

He also instructed officials to issue appointment orders to eligible candidates within the stipulated period. The directions accompanied the Singareni profit-sharing payout announcement and the government’s decisions concerning workers’ housing and employment benefits.
