Worker injured in blasting mishap at Singareni mine in Bhupalpally

Hyderabad: A Singareni mine accident was narrowly averted at the KTK-5 mine of Singareni Collieries in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district on Monday when an explosive detonated unexpectedly during a blasting operation.

The incident seriously injured a worker, identified as Sriramula Pradeep.

Workers were carrying out blasting operations as part of coal extraction activities inside the mine.

The accident occurred at the 13th level of the underground mine.

The blasting team placed explosive charges to extract coal.

However, one of the explosives reportedly detonated unexpectedly while Pradeep was handling it.

Singareni mine accident triggers inquiry

The blast severely injured Pradeep’s left hand.

Meanwhile, fellow workers immediately rushed to his aid.

They shifted him to the Singareni Area Hospital in Bhupalpally after he suffered heavy bleeding.

Doctors are providing emergency treatment to the injured worker.

Following the incident, senior Singareni officials reached the mine site.

They launched a detailed inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Officials will examine safety procedures and operational conditions during the investigation.
