DGP Shivdhar Reddy responds to Bandi Sanjay, stresses workplace safety

Hyderabad: Telangana DGP B Shivdhar Reddy responded to concerns raised by Union Minister Bandi Sanjay, asserting that police systems remained robust to ensure safety and dignity in workplaces.

He said Telangana Police remained committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all citizens. At the same time, he highlighted Hyderabad’s diversity and the contribution of professionals from across the country.

Shivdhar Reddy said initiatives such as the Society for Cyberabad Security Council strengthened coordination between police and industry. As a result, authorities worked closely with organisations and HR teams to improve workplace accountability.

He said police conducted safety audits of working women’s hostels and PG accommodations. In addition, services like SheShuttle and Margdarshak supported women professionals. He added that SHE Teams and Bharosa Centres ensured prompt action on complaints.

According to him, every complaint received attention and a swift response. Therefore, police systems remained responsive and fair in addressing concerns.

He said Telangana Police would continue to work with citizens, communities and industries. Consequently, authorities aimed to uphold constitutional values and ensure safety across sectors.

Earlier, Union Minister Bandi Sanjay raised concerns over workplace safety following a case in Nashik. He urged the DGP to hold meetings with IT company heads and HR teams to ensure accountability.

He said workplaces should remain free from coercion, harassment and exploitation. In addition, he called for strict mechanisms to address complaints and protect employees.

Bandi Sanjay said several employees shared incidents on social media. Therefore, he urged authorities and companies not to ignore warning signals and to prioritise employee safety.
