Hyderabad: Shankarpally crane accident claimed five migrant workers’ lives and left 12 others injured after a construction crane collapsed during strong winds near the site.
The incident occurred on Monday when a crane belonging to NCC Limited fell onto a shed. At the time, several workers had taken shelter inside to escape the rain. The collapse killed five workers on the spot and left others with fractures and serious injuries.
State Labour and Mines Minister G. Vivek Venkatswamy visited the injured at the hospital and enquired about their condition. He reviewed the treatment being provided and interacted with officials on site.
Shankarpally crane accident prompts ministerial review
The minister, along with MLA Kale Yadaiah, assessed the situation and directed officials to submit a detailed report on the incident. He instructed authorities to examine the circumstances that led to the crane collapse.
He stated that the government would extend all possible assistance to the families of the deceased and those injured. Officials continued monitoring treatment for the victims as the administration initiated follow-up action.
