Shabbir Ali targets BRS, BJP in Kamareddy, urges vote for Congress

Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader and Telangana Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Sunday launched a powerful campaign in Kamareddy town. He accused both BRS and BJP of betraying the public and urged voters to support Congress in the municipal elections.

Shabbir Ali toured Wards 8, 12, 31, 33, 34, 35, 36, and 37 of Kamareddy municipality. Speaking at multiple meetings, he called BRS a nexus of corruption and slammed BJP for encouraging division. According to him, only the Congress, symbolised by the “hand,” could bring back the vision of Indiramma Rajyam. “Both BRS and BJP must be swept into the Bay of Bengal,” he declared.

BRS enriched one family while BJP sowed division, says Shabbir

Highlighting the failures of the Kaleshwaram project and Dharani portal, Shabbir alleged that resources meant for the people were diverted to benefit a few. He said water went to farmhouses while funds lined contractors’ pockets. “In ten years, BRS hijacked water, funds, and jobs for one family’s gain,” he remarked.

Furthermore, he said the Dharani portal had become a nightmare for farmers. Instead of easing access, it caused confusion and land disputes. Shabbir also criticised BJP’s silence on BRS corruption. “Why hasn’t the BJP-led Centre acted if it’s truly against graft?” he questioned.

He argued that BJP and BRS were two faces of the same coin. “They fight locally and collaborate in Delhi,” he said. He accused BJP of worsening inflation and deepening social divides through religion-based politics. “They do not solve problems they manufacture new ones,” he said.

Congress offers credible welfare, calls for unity in Kamareddy

In contrast, Shabbir praised Congress welfare policies. He cited free bus travel for women and direct support for farmers as examples of practical relief. “Our schemes are already making a difference,” he stated.

He reminded voters that Sonia Gandhi had granted Telangana. “It is now our duty to develop the state,” he added. He urged citizens to support Congress for better roads, services, and justice for all communities.

Calling for complete unity, Shabbir asked Congress workers to fly the party’s flag across Kamareddy. “Let’s move ahead with the slogan: Change is needed—Congress must return,” he said. He promised clean governance and a renewed focus on development.

Local leaders, ward candidates, and large numbers of residents took part in the campaign. The strong turnout signalled growing public support.
