Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar has urged vehicle owners to update their mobile numbers and email addresses on the VAHAN portal to receive traffic violation e-challans and other important notifications without delay.
He said motorists can receive information related to traffic offences, notices and vehicle-related updates through SMS, WhatsApp and email. Moreover, updating contact details will help vehicle owners stay informed and avoid penalties caused by missed notifications. Vehicle owners can update their details online or by scanning the QR code issued by the authorities.
VAHAN portal helps motorists receive timely notifications
The Commissioner said the update process is simple and can be completed quickly online. Meanwhile, he advised motorists to verify and update their registered mobile numbers and email addresses at the earliest.
Furthermore, he noted that timely updates would ensure uninterrupted communication between authorities and vehicle owners. Under government regulations, authorities treat e-challans sent to the registered mobile number or email address as officially served to the vehicle owner.
Therefore, Sajjanar urged motorists not to delay updating their details. Additionally, he said vehicle owners can remain informed about notices and avoid unnecessary fines by keeping their contact information updated.
