Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Monday caught a revenue inspector and a private person in a revenue inspector bribery case in Nalgonda district. The ACB identified the revenue inspector as Rallahandi Gopa Raju. He worked in the office of the Tahsildar-cum-Joint Sub-Registrar at Nampally mandal.
According to the ACB, Gopa Raju demanded and accepted a ₹15,000 bribe from a complainant. The agency alleged that he received the money through Adulla Yadagiri, a private person.
Yadagiri worked as an assistant to the revenue inspector, the ACB said. The alleged bribe related to an official favour concerning the complainant’s agricultural land. The ACB said the favour involved submitting a Panchanama report on the land to the Tahsildar.
ACB details revenue inspector bribery case
Officials recovered the ₹15,000 tainted amount from Yadagiri’s possession, according to the press note. The ACB said he had received the money at the revenue inspector’s instance. The agency alleged that Gopa Raju had acted improperly and dishonestly to obtain an undue advantage.
The ACB said both accused were being arrested and produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Nampally. They were to be produced for judicial remand. Meanwhile, the agency said the revenue inspector bribery case remained under investigation. It withheld the complainant’s details for security reasons.
The ACB also asked the public to report demands for bribes by public servants through its toll-free number, 1064. It said complaints could also be submitted through its designated social media channels.
