Revanth Reddy explained that each YIIRS, catering to students from Classes 5 to 12, will accommodate 2,560 learners. With 105 schools planned, the initiative will directly benefit approximately 2.7 lakh students. He added that by serving as educational hubs for nearby government schools, YIIRS will indirectly benefit several lakh more students.

The Chief Minister said the residential schools will feature modern facilities, laboratories, and stadiums. An investment of ₹21,000 crore is earmarked for their construction. He also noted that the State plans to spend an additional ₹9,000 crore to upgrade labs and basic infrastructure at junior, degree, and technical colleges. Other higher education institutions will also benefit.

In total, the Telangana government has allocated ₹30,000 crore for comprehensive education sector development. To manage these funds efficiently, Revanth Reddy proposed the formation of a Special Purpose Company (SPC). He requested that loans raised under this model be exempt from FRBM (Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management) limits.

Union Minister Sitharaman commended Telangana’s focus on education and praised the YIIRS model. She asked officials to provide detailed proposals on the SPC structure for further consideration.

The meeting was attended by MPs Mandadi Anil Kumar, Dr. Mallu Ravi, Suresh Shetkar, Chamal Kiran Kumar Reddy, and Telangana’s Special Representative in Delhi, Jithender Reddy.
