HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will officially launch the Bhu Bharati land records portal on 14 April, introducing it as a comprehensive digital platform for maintaining records of both private and government lands.
The announcement was made during a high-level review meeting at the Chief Minister’s official residence, where the features and implementation of the portal were discussed in detail. Revanth Reddy instructed officials to ensure that Bhu Bharati is designed in a way that makes it easily accessible and understandable, even for ordinary farmers.
He emphasised that Bhu Bharati is a permanent initiative meant to serve the state for at least the next 100 years, offering a secure and accessible system for storing land records. The Chief Minister also directed that the portal be equipped with modern features and completely secured from vulnerabilities. He suggested entrusting its maintenance to a dependable institution.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Minister’s advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) Naveen Mittal, the CM’s Officer on Special Duty and Revenue Secretary Jyoti Buddha Prakash, among others.
The Congress-led government had announced the development of Bhu Bharati after abolishing the Dharani portal introduced during the BRS regime. Over the past year, the government conducted hearings and feedback sessions involving farmer organisations, government employees, and the general public to shape the structure of the new portal. A high-level committee of officials was subsequently constituted to oversee its development.
The portal is set to begin operations on a pilot basis in three selected mandals starting 14 April. Based on public feedback and after addressing any arising issues, the platform will be gradually rolled out across the state.
