Hyderabad: A high-performing student from Rayachoti, Annamayya district, tragically ended her life after allegedly being hounded by a persistent stalker. The girl, who had recently scored an impressive 554 marks in her Class 10 exams, reportedly took the extreme step just days before she was due to join college.
According to her grieving father, the teenager had been subjected to continuous mental torment by a local youth who had developed an unhealthy obsession with her. What began as unwanted advances escalated into disturbing threats. The stalker, he said, not only harassed her in the name of love but also allegedly threatened to share her photos on social media platforms, a fear that ultimately drove her over the edge.
“She was frightened and disturbed. Despite her academic achievements, she couldn’t bear the pressure. She was supposed to join college in two days,” her father said, struggling to hold back tears.
The case has sent shockwaves through the community, raising urgent questions about the safety of young girls and the growing menace of online blackmail and harassment. Local authorities have launched an investigation, but the loss of a bright young life has already cast a long, painful shadow over the town.
