Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president Ramchander Rao accused the Congress government of neglecting farmers while addressing a two-day BJP training camp in Mahabubabad district on Friday.
He said farmers are the backbone of the country and should not become subjects of political games.
The state BJP president alleged that the government had failed to address the concerns of cultivators.
He also claimed that farmers were facing losses during paddy procurement.
Ramchander Rao raises concerns over farmer issues
The BJP leader alleged that authorities were deducting quantities of paddy and causing hardship to farmers.
He said officials were ignoring grievances raised by cultivators across the state.
According to the BJP leader, the Congress government projected itself as pro-farmer but failed to meet expectations.
He also criticised the government over the condition of roads in Telangana.
The BJP leader claimed that several roads had deteriorated over the years.
Meanwhile, he highlighted development initiatives undertaken by the Centre in Mahabubabad.
He said the Union government had supported railway infrastructure and other development projects in the region.
Furthermore, he said the Centre would continue to take up additional development programmes in the future.
District BJP president Venkateshwarlu, Shyam Sharma and other party leaders attended the training camp.
