Hyderabad: Armur MLA Paidi Rakesh Reddy demanded more development funds for his constituency. He sought at least half the funds given to constituencies represented by the Chief Minister and ministers.
For two years, Rakesh Reddy said he had raised Armur’s problems with the Chief Minister and Revenue Minister. However, he said the government had not responded to his requests.
The MLA raised the constituency’s issues during the Assembly session on Wednesday. Several revenue offices in Armur had remained in a dilapidated condition for years, he said.
Despite repeatedly raising the condition of these offices, Rakesh Reddy said no action had followed his questions. He also said he had details of the funds allocated to constituencies represented by the Chief Minister and ministers.
The MLA sought comparable funding for Armur. He urged the government to rebuild government offices that had deteriorated.
In particular, Rakesh Reddy demanded Rs 27 crore for a new revenue office building. He also called for action on other pending constituency issues.
Armur development funds tied to resignation threat
Rakesh Reddy said he was ready to resign from his MLA post if the government failed to act. He said he could resign immediately for Armur’s development.
The MLA demanded funds for development works in the constituency. He also sought funding on par with allocations made to other constituencies.
Questioning the government, Rakesh Reddy asked how many times he would have to appeal for Armur’s development. He reiterated that he had raised these issues for two years.
Action on the dilapidated revenue offices was another demand raised by the MLA. He said the government should address the constituency’s problems and provide development funds.
Rakesh Reddy said he would resign if the government failed to resolve Armur’s problems. He again demanded funds for development works in the constituency.
