Rajendranagar police bust inter‑state ganja supply gang, seize over 108 kg

Hyderabad: Rajendranagar Police along with the Zone Special Operations Team (SOT) on July 10 evening apprehended six suspects linked to an inter‑state ganja supply racket and seized 108.797 kg of cannabis from two vehicles on the ORR near Toll Exit No. 17.

A tip‑off led officers to intercept a Maruti Swift and a Maruti Ignis at 6 pm. A detailed search uncovered 60 kg of ganja in the Swift and 48 kg in the Ignis. Cash of ₹9,700, six mobile phones, and both vehicles were also seized.

Those arrested include five men and one woman, all Pune natives, and one suspect from Odisha, identified as supplier Pawan Deep (alias Jeevan). The gang allegedly procured cannabis from Odisha and transported it through Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Suryapet, and finally Hyderabad before the bust.

Four of the accused had prior criminal records. The primary suspect, Prashant Ganesh Pasalkar (aged 29), was previously arrested in an NDPS case at Kodada PS in Suryapet and is said to have operated trafficking routes for over four years.

Rajendranagar DCP Ch. Srinivas, IPS, commended the combined effort by the SOT team and local station staff for disrupting the supply chain.
