Rachakonda CP urges CCTV installation, vigilance to curb crime

Hyderabad: Rachakonda Commissioner of Police G. Sudheer Babu, IPS, has called on residents of gated and villa communities to install high-definition CCTV systems and remain alert to suspicious movements as part of a broader push to strengthen security across the Commissionerate limits.

At a special meeting held at the Rachakonda CP Office, the Commissioner met with representatives of various welfare associations to discuss safety strategies. He urged citizens to assist the police in curbing thefts and robberies by implementing specific measures.

“Within six minutes of any crime report, our teams will reach the location,” Sudheer Babu assured. He also cautioned residents to be vigilant about delivery personnel from platforms like Swiggy and Zomato.

Key security measures advised:

  1. CCTV Surveillance: Install HD cameras with night vision at gates, entrances, and streets. Integrate them with the Police Command & Control Room.
  2. Alarm Systems: Use door and window sensors that alert during forced entry. Secure all points with grills and strong locks.
  3. Neighborhood Watch: Stay connected with neighbors and report any suspicious activity or vehicles immediately.
  4. Professional Security: Hire only reliable, professional guards from verified agencies.
  5. Lighting: Eliminate dark areas with adequate lighting and motion-sensor devices.
  6. Social Media Caution: Avoid posting travel plans or absences online.

The Commissioner noted that following these steps would significantly deter criminal activity and requested full cooperation from residents.

The meeting was attended by DCPs Smt. Padmaja (Malkajgiri), Shri Praveen Kumar (LB Nagar), Shri Akshansh Yadav (Bhongir), Smt. Sunitha Reddy (Maheshwaram), Shri Aravind Babu (Crimes), Smt. Indira (Admin), and Shri G. Narasimha Reddy (SB), among others.
