Hyderabad: BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Sunday led a door-to-door campaign in support of Congress candidate Naveen Yadav. The campaign took place on Krishna Nagar Road in the Yusufguda division of Jubilee Hills. Senior leaders Shiv Sena Reddy, Sanjay Goud, and several party workers joined him.
During the campaign, Ponnam met women and senior citizens. He explained how Congress welfare schemes were improving daily life. He also spoke about new development projects launched by the state government. The minister urged residents to vote for Naveen Yadav. He described Yadav as educated, energetic, and deeply connected to the local people.
Later, while addressing a street-corner meeting, Ponnam accused the previous BRS government of neglecting Jubilee Hills for ten years. He criticised the former MLA for ignoring basic needs like drinking water. He said political goondaism and misuse of police power had caused much suffering for residents.

Ponnam highlights Congress development record in Jubilee Hills
Ponnam said the Congress government under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had started fixing these civic problems. He pointed out that projects to improve Hyderabad’s water supply were already underway. Moreover, several welfare schemes had benefited thousands of families. These included free rice, new ration cards, 200 units of free power, gas cylinders at ₹500, zero-interest loans for women’s groups, and free RTC bus travel for women.
He said road and drainage works were progressing fast in Jubilee Hills. He added that the Congress victory in the Secunderabad Cantonment bypoll showed strong public trust in the government. Ponnam praised MLA Ganesh for his leadership and said his efforts were driving steady local progress.
In conclusion, Ponnam appealed to voters to support Naveen Yadav. He said only the Congress government could ensure lasting growth and better living conditions in Jubilee Hills.
