Minister Ponnam opens ₹102 crore multi-level parking hub at Nampally

Hyderabad: District In-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Saturday inaugurated a high-tech multi-level parking facility at Nampally junction. The project aims to ease parking and traffic congestion in central Hyderabad.

The ₹102 crore project was developed on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model between Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) and Novam. It was launched in the presence of Minister Azharuddin, Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Shobhan Reddy, and HMRL Advisor NVS Reddy.

Nampally multi-level parking facility combines automation and urban mobility

Spread across 2,000 square yards of HMRL land, the 15-storey facility features 10 levels of parking and five commercial floors. It can accommodate 200 cars and 200 two-wheelers.

The fully automated system, powered by German technology, allows drivers to park vehicles using a turntable mechanism. In addition, they can retrieve them via swipe cards—without human intervention.

Ponnam Prabhakar described it as India’s first automated parking project of its kind. He said the facility will offer affordable parking options and reduce vehicle congestion in the busy Nampally zone.

The project operates under a 50-year agreement with private partner Novam. It is expected to serve as a model for future urban infrastructure.
