Hyderabad: Telangana Minister for Revenue, Housing and Information, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, on Thursday hit back at BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), challenging him to prove his party’s strength in the upcoming Jubilee Hills bypoll.

Hoisting the Congress party flag at Warangal Cross Road, Ponguleti questioned KTR’s vision and leadership. “Before preaching, set your house and your party in order. People are even doubtful if you will stay in India or shift to America after three years,” he said.

Ponguleti challenges KTR, attacks BRS record

At the event, 80 families from different parties joined Congress, and Ponguleti welcomed them with party scarves. Moreover, he reminded the gathering of Congress’s long-standing services to the state.

He accused BRS of betraying public trust during its 10-year rule. “If the government had built even one lakh houses every year, ten lakh poor families would own homes today. Instead, the BRS regime drowned itself in commissions through projects like Kaleshwaram,” Ponguleti said.

Further, he alleged that BRS leaders carried “poison in their veins like snakes” and predicted that voters would punish them in upcoming local body polls. He also noted that people had already sidelined BRS in Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

Ponguleti added that Congress, now in power, would deliver houses, welfare schemes, and development works to the people with low-income across Telangana.

Senior Congress leaders including former MLC Balasani Lakshminarayana, TPCC general secretary Maddineni Baby Swarnakumari, Dharawat Rammurthy Nayak, Borra Rajashekar, Harinath Babu, Kallem Venkat Reddy, Maddi Malla Reddy, Bandi Jagadish, Pratapaneni Raghu, Bhukya Suresh Nayak, Vempati Ravi, Bhujanga Reddy, Veera Reddy, Bhaskar Nayak, Pradyumna Chari, Sangayya, Venkatanarayana, Thota Veerabhadram, Karlapudi Bhadrakali, Kishore Nayak, Banoth Divya, Banoth Hari, and Tippireddy Rajashekar Reddy attended the programme.
