Police raid houses of Jaffer Pahilwan, sons in Junaid murder case probe

Hyderabad: Police carried out early morning raids at the houses of rowdy sheeter Jaffer Pahilwan and his sons in connection with the Junaid murder case, as part of an intensified crackdown on criminal elements.

According to police, the raids followed the recent murder of Junaid. As a result, authorities deployed 60 police personnel for the coordinated operation.

During the searches, police seized several illegal knives. In addition, officers recovered documents linked to suspected illegal properties, which they sent for detailed verification.

Police register Arms Act cases, accused absconding

Based on the recovery of illegal weapons, police decided to register two FIRs under the Arms Act. The accused include Jaffer Pahilwan, who faces 40 criminal cases, his son Sayeed Pahilwan, an ex-rowdy sheeter with five criminal cases, and Sulemaan Pahilwan, who has one criminal case.

However, police said all three accused were absconding. Therefore, they formed special teams to trace and arrest them at the earliest.

Meanwhile, police appealed to the public to share any information related to the accused or their movements. At the same time, officials assured informants that their identities would remain strictly confidential.

Finally, police warned that they would not tolerate rowdyism or criminal activity. They said they would take strict action against offenders to maintain law and order in Hyderabad.

The operation took place under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Zone, Hyderabad.
