HYDERABAD: Congress leader Mahesh Kumar Goud has alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done nothing substantial for the Backward Classes (BCs) despite projecting himself as an OBC leader. Speaking to the media on Sunday, Goud accused Modi of merely using the OBC identity for political gains. “He promoted himself as an OBC but did nothing for their welfare,” he stated.
Goud also criticised BJP leaders for misinterpreting Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s recent statements. He questioned Modi’s OBC status, contrasting it with BJP MP Bandi Sanjay’s background. “Bandi Sanjay was born as a BC, but what about Modi? He was not born a BC but legally became one later,” he claimed.
Reiterating his stance, Goud challenged BJP to list the initiatives taken by Modi for BCs. “What has Modi done for BCs? There is no answer,” he remarked. His comments come amid an ongoing political debate over caste representation and BC welfare policies in Telangana.
