One lakh visitors attend Udyan Utsav 2026 at Rashtrapati Nilayam

Hyderabad: Rashtrapati Nilayam in Hyderabad welcomed nearly one lakh visitors during Udyan Utsav 2026, held from January 3 to 11. The festival highlighted agriculture, heritage, sustainability, and public engagement.

The President’s Secretariat and the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare organised the nine-day event. MANAGE, the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management, provided key support. The event attracted schoolchildren, farmers, startups, FPOs, and citizens from all walks of life.

Dr Sagar Hanuman Singh, Director General of MANAGE, described Udyan Utsav as a tribute to Indian culture. Children enjoyed the exhibitions. Farmers joined workshops, and many young women actively participated. Singh thanked the President for her vision and praised the efforts of all supporting departments.

Shivendra Chaturvedi, Director at the President’s Secretariat, said he was happy to see strong youth and student participation.

Udyan Utsav 2026 bridges agriculture and cultural outreach

Dr K Rajani Priya, Manager at Rashtrapati Nilayam, said the event blended horticultural learning with the legacy of the presidential estate. She noted that nearly one lakh visitors marked its success.

Jasbir Singh from the Agriculture Ministry thanked MANAGE and stressed the importance of including FPOs. He also noted that career counselling for students made the event especially meaningful.

Dr Anugu Narasimha Reddy from the Telangana Culture Department described the Utsav as a cultural celebration. He pointed to daily folk performances and highlighted the platform it gave to Telugu heritage.

Dr Shalendra Singh of MANAGE said the event raised awareness on safe food, career opportunities, and eco-friendly practices. According to him, it will help inspire youth to explore agriculture and entrepreneurship.

The festival featured over 120 exhibitors across 50 thematic stalls. These were organised into zones such as Green Knowledge Hub, Millet Mandi, Startup Hub, Eco Bazaar, and Farm-to-Enterprise Zone.

Key participants included IIMR, Nutrihub, TRIFED, the National Bee Board, and various MANAGE-incubated startups. Numerous FPOs joined to build direct market links and share knowledge.

Udyan Utsav 2026 at Rashtrapati Nilayam succeeded in blending innovation, tradition, and sustainability. It stood as a landmark outreach event rooted in India’s agricultural and cultural strength.
