Hyderabad: Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Seethakka on Tuesday ordered officials to expedite field-level verification of new pension applications and prepare for distribution before Dasara.
She directed SERP CEO Divya Devarajan to speed up the verification process and complete it at the earliest. Moreover, Seethakka asked the CEO to deploy additional staff if required. The minister said officials should ensure that every eligible applicant received the benefit.
She specifically directed officials to include eligible single women and widows under the pension scheme without delay. Therefore, officials had to take all necessary measures to prevent any eligible beneficiary from being excluded.
New pension applications targeted for October rollout
Seethakka asked officials to complete the required process for new pension applications in time for the planned October launch. She also directed them to make arrangements to distribute the pensions before the Dasara festival.
Meanwhile, the minister stressed the need to complete field verification quickly. She said officials should ensure that all eligible beneficiaries received pensions without delay.
