Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Tuesday said financial constraints should not prevent deserving students from pursuing education and building a better future.
The Governor distributed education scholarships totalling ₹5 lakh to 28 underprivileged students at Lok Bhavan. The Mahamana Malaviya Mission, Hyderabad, organised the programme under its Mahamana Shiksha Seva Prakalp.
Shukla said Bharat Ratna Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya regarded education as a powerful instrument for nation-building. Therefore, he urged students to set clear goals and overcome challenges through determination. He also called on students to use their education to contribute to their families, society and the nation.
Education scholarships should support aspirations
Shukla advised the beneficiaries to view education scholarships as more than financial assistance. Instead, he asked them to use the support as an opportunity to pursue their aspirations.
The Governor appreciated the Mahamana Malaviya Mission for its educational and social service initiatives. Moreover, he commended donors for supporting students in need. Shukla also cautioned young people against drug abuse. He said drug abuse harmed individuals, families and society.
Furthermore, the Governor called on young people to work together to address social challenges while following the principle of “Nation First”. Governor’s Special Chief Secretary M. Dana Kishore attended the programme.
Mahamana Malaviya Mission president P.C. Jain and general secretary Dr Veer Gopal Reddy were also present. Executive members, students, parents and donors attended the event.
