Narayana hits out at Tejasvi Surya, seeks clarity from Venkaiah Naidu, Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad: CPI national secretary K. Narayana hit out at BJP MP Tejasvi Surya over his Telangana comparison and sought clarity from Venkaiah Naidu and Kishan Reddy.

Narayana criticised Surya for comparing the formation of Telangana with the India-Pakistan partition. The remarks triggered a political row following developments in Parliament.

Recalling earlier events, he said senior BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj and Venkaiah Naidu had supported the Telangana Bill at the time of its passage.

Telangana comparison triggers row as Narayana questions BJP leaders

Narayana demanded that Venkaiah Naidu and Kishan Reddy respond to Surya’s remarks. He questioned whether the BJP now considers its earlier support for Telangana as a mistake.

Meanwhile, he criticised the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that the government was pursuing “politics without principles”.

Opposing the linkage between the Women’s Reservation Bill and delimitation, he compared it to “mixing poison in payasam” and forcing people to consume it.

Narayana said women’s reservation is a justified demand. However, delaying its implementation in the name of delimitation amounts to blackmailing women, he added.

He further expressed concern that the delimitation process could create divisions between northern and southern regions in the future.
