HYDERABAD: Congress leader Sudhakar narrowly escaped a fatal heart attack on Friday, thanks to the quick response of Yellandu MLA Tellam Venkata Rao, who administered life-saving CPR on the spot.
The incident took place during a visit to Bhadrachalam, where MLA Tellam Venkata Rao was accompanying Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao as part of an official programme. During the tour, Sudhakar, a Congress leader who was travelling with the delegation, suddenly collapsed after suffering a heart attack.
Witnessing the situation unfold, Tellam Venkata Rao immediately intervened and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on Sudhakar. His swift action revived the leader and stabilised his condition before further medical assistance arrived.
Eyewitnesses praised the MLA’s presence of mind and quick response, which proved to be crucial in saving a life. The video of the incident, showing Tellam Venkata Rao administering CPR, has since gone viral on social media, drawing admiration from the public and political leaders alike.
