Hyderabad: A minor clash erupted in Jangaon district on Saturday during the BC bandh organised in support of BC rights. The incident occurred when comments critical of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy sparked a brief argument between BC leaders and local Congress members.
An argument erupts during the BC bandh event
The scuffle broke out while JAC convener Sampath was addressing the media along with district BC leaders. During his speech, Sampath allegedly made remarks calling Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s actions a “drama.”
Hearing this, Congress leaders Chintakindi Mallesh and Lokkuntla Praveen immediately objected, leading to a brief exchange of words. The heated argument disrupted the event for a few minutes.
Leaders intervene, restore calm
Soon after, BC leader and youth organiser Panduga Harish intervened and pacified both groups. He urged everyone to stay focused on the main cause — securing 42 percent BC reservations — rather than engaging in internal disputes.
Following his mediation, the programme resumed peacefully, and leaders continued the protest as planned.
