MHSRB releases specialist doctor recruitment results for 500 posts

Hyderabad: The Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board (MHSRB) on Tuesday released the final results for specialist doctor recruitment to 500 posts in government hospitals under the Directorate of Secondary Health Care (Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad).

The results covered 174 posts in General Surgery, 166 in General Medicine, 89 in Orthopaedics and 71 in Radiology. Earlier, the board published the provisional merit list. It later completed certificate verification before announcing the final results.

Officials said candidates selected through the specialist doctor recruitment process could access their results on the MHSRB website.

The State government had issued a notification to fill 1,616 Civil Assistant Surgeon (Specialist) posts across 24 specialties. The objective was to address the shortage of specialist doctors in government hospitals and improve healthcare services.

Specialist doctor recruitment strengthens public healthcare

The recruitment process for 692 posts in Anaesthesia, Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Orthopaedics had already concluded. Subsequently, Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha handed over appointment letters to the selected candidates. Officials also completed their postings.

Congratulating the newly selected doctors, Damodar Rajanarasimha urged them to serve poor and middle-class patients with dedication. He said government hospitals should continue to provide quality medical care to all sections of society.

The Minister said the government remained committed to eliminating the shortage of specialists in public hospitals. So far, it has completed recruitment for 1,192 of the 1,616 sanctioned specialist posts.

Finally, Damodar Rajanarasimha directed recruitment board officials to complete the recruitment process for the remaining posts at the earliest.
