Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka will unveil the Metro RTC joint pass at Praja Bhavan on Friday and launch the ‘Mee Ticket’ app for city bus commuters. RTC and Metro are jointly introducing the pass to give commuters in the CURE region convenient and seamless public transport connectivity.
The joint pass will be available in daily and monthly options. The daily pass has been priced at Rs 400, made up of Rs 300 for Metro and Rs 100 for RTC, while the monthly pass has been fixed at Rs 8,500, comprising a Metro fare of Rs 7,000 and an RTC fare of Rs 1,500.
Commuters will pay Rs 100 for the card at the time of their first purchase, and the amount will be refunded when the card is returned. A single pass will allow travel on Metro trains and on all types of RTC city buses operating within the ORR, except Pushpak services.
Mee Ticket app brings Rs 600 weekly bus pass
The minister will also launch an open ticketing system through the Mee Ticket app on Friday, aimed at sparing city bus passengers the trouble of loose change and tickets. The app lets passengers book tickets directly on their own. Once they download it on their mobile phones, commuters can make digital payments within the app and obtain tickets with ease.
The app also features a dedicated digital weekly bus pass, which allows unlimited travel on all buses for a week on payment of Rs 600. RTC said daily and monthly passes will also be available on the app.
