MDMA worth ₹6 lakh seized in Sanathnagar, peddlers and consumers nabbed

Hyderabad: Police seized MDMA worth ₹6 lakh in Sanathnagar and nabbed peddlers and consumers during a joint operation by the Task Force and local police. The MDMA seizure followed surveillance and tracking of drug movement in the area.

Sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force, Jubilee Hills Zone, along with Sanathnagar Police, carried out the raid. Moreover, they recovered 60 grams of MDMA from the accused.

MDMA seized in Sanathnagar during a joint police operation

Police identified two accused as Songapu Hemanth, 23, and Mukkagalla Nagendra, 21, both consumers. Meanwhile, they apprehended two juveniles in connection with the case.

Investigators said the accused regularly consumed alcohol, ganja, and MDMA. Subsequently, they developed links with suppliers operating from Chintal.

Officials said one of the juveniles procured the drug at a lower price from suppliers. He then planned to sell it to known customers at higher rates.

Two days before the arrest, the accused purchased 60 grams of MDMA for distribution. Consequently, police tracked their activities and conducted the raid.

Police handed over the accused and seized material to the Sanathnagar Police Station for further investigation. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to trace the absconding accused, identified as Sai Nikhil Yadav and Aditya.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Task Force Inspector Ch. Yadender and SI D. Ravi Raj, along with their team and Sanathnagar Police.
