Court grants bail to BRS spokesperson Manne Krishank, rejects police remand plea

Hyderabad: A Secunderabad court has granted bail to BRS spokesperson Manne Krishank, rejecting a police request to remand him, hours after Gopalapuram police arrested him on Tuesday morning. The arrest was linked to a case accusing him of being behind satirical banners targeting Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and his family members that came up near Medicover hospital.

After the arrest, police took Krishank to Gandhi Hospital for medical examination. Once the tests were completed, he was produced before Secunderabad’s 10th Metropolitan Magistrate Padma.

The case was registered on a complaint by a Congress leader. FIR 668/2026 was filed on the basis of a complaint lodged by Congress leader Mettu Sai Kumar with CCS DCP Chaitanya. BRS leaders alleged that plainclothes police had kept a watch around Krishank’s residence on Monday. An earlier attempt to send Krishank to jail had also suffered a setback in court.

The case followed a press conference Krishank held at Telangana Bhavan on Saturday, in which he alleged that the Chief Minister’s family had looted Rs 50,000 crore in two and a half years by misusing power. He alleged that the family was grabbing land at will and plundering public money in the name of companies, and claimed that the Chief Minister’s son-in-law, Goluguri Satyanarayana, holds stakes in Maxbion Pharma and Medicover hospitals.

Krishank further alleged that five Hyundai showrooms opened in Hyderabad under the name “Geetha” Automotives four months after Revanth Reddy met Hyundai’s top brass in South Korea in August 2024. He claimed that the Chief Minister’s daughter, Naimisha Reddy, is building an international corporate school in Kompally through the construction firm Mindvault, and that Revanth Reddy acts as promoter for companies of his wife, son-in-law and daughter, with his alleged benami Dumpa Sireesha as a partner. He also alleged that Medicover was sold for Rs 13,200 crore to convert black money into white, and challenged that he would never hold a press conference again if his allegations were proved wrong.

On learning of the arrest, several senior BRS leaders reached the Secunderabad court. They included MLCs Dasoju Sravan and Shambhipur Raju, former minister Padma Rao Goud, MLAs Padi Kaushik Reddy and K.P. Vivekananda Goud, party general secretary R.S. Praveen Kumar, former MLAs Bala Suman and Gadari Kishore, Talasani Sai Kiran, Karthik Reddy and Mutha Jaisimha. Former corporation chairmen Gajjela Nagesh, Rajiv Sagar, Errolla Srinivas, Chirumalla Rakesh and Venkateshwar Reddy, former commission members Gosula Srinivas Yadav and Kishore Goud, leader Niveditha and local leaders were also present.

BRS leaders tracked the developments from Telangana Bhavan. BRSLP deputy floor leader Harish Rao coordinated with the party’s legal team, examined legal options on the arrest and spoke to Krishank after he was granted bail.

BRS legal cell advocates told the court that Krishank had been arrested without any notice and argued that cases were being filed and arrests made merely for questioning the government. They said the police action violated Supreme Court guidelines and that registering a fresh case at Gopalapuram police station was improper when a case on the same issue was already pending with the CCS. The court turned down the remand request and granted bail, after which Krishank walked out of the court with the lawyers and senior party leaders.

Krishank says 41 cases filed against him since Congress came to power

Speaking on the court premises after his release, Krishank said police had taken him and kept him at Bolarum police station, and that another set of police personnel came to arrest him again at around 4 am. He alleged that they broke open the doors of his house, threatened his family members, made a little girl cry and handcuffed him. He said the High Court had rejected the remand, questioning the nature of the cases.

Krishank said that 41 cases had been filed against him since the Congress government came to power, and alleged that attempts were being made to jail BRS leaders because they were questioning the Chief Minister’s family. He asked why Revanth Reddy had not said a word even two years after he raised the issue of Swachh Bio company. He also questioned the links of Revanth Reddy and his family members with Medicover hospital, Maxbion Pharma and Mindvault, and asked what secret lay in Medicover and how its sale fetched Rs 13,200 crore, saying no answers were being given.
