HYDERABAD: Congress MP Dr Mallu Ravi strongly criticised BRS working president K T Rama Rao (KTR) over his recent remarks against Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He called KTR’s statements senseless and accused him of insulting the wisdom and self-respect of Telangana’s four crore people.
Addressing the media, Mallu Ravi emphasised that Revanth Reddy was elected as the Chief Minister by the people, just as Bhatti Vikramarka was chosen as the Deputy CM. He stated that KTR had no right to question the legitimacy of their leadership.
Taking a dig at BRS, the Congress MP recalled that despite being the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao had refused to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Hyderabad. He accused the BRS leadership of betraying the people of Telangana and claimed that the party’s anti-farmer policies had led to its downfall.
Mallu Ravi further stated that both KTR and KCR had lost credibility, which was evident from their defeat in the Assembly elections and their failure to secure even a deposit in the Lok Sabha polls. He warned that if KTR continued making such statements, he would face strong backlash from the public.
He also asserted that Congress leaders would not remain silent if KTR continued to target CM Revanth Reddy and other party leaders.
