Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate has prepared a comprehensive security plan for Ganesh immersion processions, with 5,874 police personnel to be deployed across its jurisdiction. The operation, named ‘Ganesh Suraksha Sankalp–2026’, is aimed at ensuring continuous monitoring and preventing security lapses.
Police Commissioner Badugula Sumathi said in an official statement on Sunday that elaborate arrangements had been made for the immersion programme. It will be the first large-scale Ganesh immersion operation under the newly reorganised, urban-centric Malkajgiri Commissionerate.
The security deployment will include police personnel from across the commissionerate, along with additional forces and specialised units from outside. Officials from various civic departments will also be integrated into the arrangements to support the operation.
CP Sumathi urged Ganesh Utsav committees and local mandapam organisers to complete the mandatory online registration process for every installed idol. The registration will help police identify mandapam locations, designated procession routes, timings and available local CCTV coverage.
Monitoring to continue through Ganesh immersion
Police will maintain continuous monitoring from the initial installation of idols until the completion of the immersion processions. The Commissioner said the arrangements were intended to support close surveillance throughout the festivities and immersion activities.
