Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud will take his Janahita Padayatra into its third phase this week. The yatra will cover multiple districts while linking with national-level party programmes.
The party announced that the third leg will begin on August 28 in the Nakirekal constituency of Nalgonda district. On August 29, Goud will continue in the Achampet constituency of Nagarkurnool district.
Link with Rahul Gandhi’s campaign
After these segments, Goud will attend the ‘Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod’ public meeting at Jubilee Hills on August 30. The event forms part of Rahul Gandhi’s larger “Vote Chor” campaign against the BJP.
Congress leaders from Telangana will also travel to Bihar on August 26 to join Rahul Gandhi’s padayatra there. The move highlights coordination between state and central leadership.
Progress of the Janahita Padayatra
The second phase began on August 24 in Karimnagar district. It then moved through Choppadandi before entering the Wadhannapet constituency of Wadhannapet.
The first phase ran from July 31 to August 4. It covered Vikarabad, Nizamabad, and Adilabad districts, starting at Rangapur near Parigi and ending at Khanapur in Adilabad.
Party mobilisation effort
AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, state ministers, and district leaders have joined the padayatra at different stages. Local leaders and cadres have also mobilised in large numbers.
The Congress has presented the Janahita Padayatra as a people-focused outreach drive. It aims to highlight governance failures while directly engaging with communities.
