Hyderabad: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the Congress government and urged voters to treat the upcoming municipal elections as a “lesson time” for the ruling party.
While campaigning in Rajanna Sircilla district, KTR addressed residents across local wards and accused the Congress of failing to fulfil its promises after coming to power. He said the government was again misleading people ahead of the municipal polls.
Referring to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, KTR questioned the delay in releasing Rythu Bandhu payments. He asked why the government linked welfare disbursements to elections. He said benefits must reach farmers on time and remain free of political considerations.

Meanwhile, the BRS leader said the Congress had sidelined several welfare schemes, including Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak. He alleged that the ruling party was creating false hopes among the public and therefore warned voters against trusting its assurances.
KTR also criticised the Chief Minister for repeatedly targeting former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao. Instead, he said the government should focus on governance and delivery. He further alleged that the Congress was planning to scrap smaller districts created during the BRS tenure.
Finally, describing the municipal elections as a direct contest between the Bharat Rashtra Samithi and the Congress, KTR urged voters to back the BRS to revive welfare and development programmes. He said the process of bringing KCR back as Chief Minister should begin with these local body elections.
