Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao has declared the new urea distribution mobile application as proof of the Congress government’s incompetence, branding it an “anti-farmer gimmick” that exposes its failure in handling agricultural issues.
Addressing the Athmiya Sammelanam of newly elected BRS Sarpanches, Upa-Sarpanches, and ward members from Tandur at Telangana Bhavan on Saturday, KTR accused the Congress of deceiving every section of society over the last two years. He said the public had responded decisively, reflecting widespread discontent.
KTR alleged that the government had deliberately undermined key welfare schemes such as Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, and the promised loan waiver. He further accused it of disrupting electricity supply to agricultural areas, thereby compounding farmers’ problems.
KTR demands immediate urea supply, calls app a diversion
“The Congress government has acted with a clear vendetta against rural Telangana,” he stated, adding that the growing unrest in villages reflects the government’s lack of concern for the farming community.
He took particular aim at the newly launched urea app, calling it a deliberate attempt to conceal the fertilizer crisis from public view. “This Urea App is not a solution. It’s a cover-up to mask the long queues of distressed farmers,” KTR said.
During the BRS government’s decade-long rule, farmers never faced fertilizer shortages, he noted. In contrast, the current situation, he argued, has resulted from poor planning and absence of vision on the Congress government’s part.
KTR urged the administration to abandon what he described as “app dramas” and instead supply urea directly at shops without digital barriers. He demanded an immediate and adequate release of fertilizers to farmers statewide.
“The government should stop hiding behind apps and start addressing real issues on the ground,” he added.
The meeting also saw the presence of former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, MLA Gangula Kamalakar, former MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy, Karne Prabhakar, and other BRS leaders.
