KTR slams Congress for poll misconduct, lauds BRS cadre for spirited fight

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Wednesday issued a strong statement on the recently concluded municipal election polling, alleging large-scale misconduct by the ruling Congress party. He praised BRS cadre for what he described as a valiant and inspiring resistance across the state.

In a social media post, KTR congratulated party workers who, despite what he called severe abuse of power by the Congress government, remained committed to the party’s values. He said their energy from Adilabad to Alampur had infused new strength and confidence in the BRS.

KTR on municipal election polling: Revanth Reddy misused police, feared defeat

KTR accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of orchestrating harassment against BRS activists using state machinery. He said the Congress, rattled by the backlash it faced in the recent Panchayat polls, had feared similar rejection in urban areas and therefore resorted to intimidation tactics.

He alleged that Revanth Reddy misused police forces to target BRS workers and tampered with public sentiment using illicitly acquired public funds. According to KTR, these acts were attempts to override democratic choice, but the people of Telangana would not tolerate such conspiracies.

He further warned that the chief minister would pay a “heavy price” for his actions. “Having failed to honour promises and thrown governance into disarray, Revanth Reddy will be haunted daily by the consequences of his misrule,” he declared.
