Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao alleged that Congress representatives felled 200 trees at a Palle Prakruthi Vanam in Devarakadra mandal of Mahabubnagar district.
In a post on X, KTR claimed that the trees were cut at the Palle Prakruthi Vanam in Jeenugurala village. He termed the act brutal and accused the ruling party of targeting rural greenery created during the previous BRS government.
According to him, former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had established such green zones to ensure every village had dedicated ecological space. Therefore, he said, damaging them reflected disregard for environmental protection.

Meanwhile, KTR alleged that the Congress government had been undoing works undertaken over the past decade. He claimed that villages which once appeared vibrant were now witnessing neglect.
He further accused the ruling party of damaging check dams and encroaching upon water bodies. In addition, he said agriculture had suffered and traditional occupations had weakened. Now, he added, even trees planted under rural green initiatives were being cut.
Accordingly, the BRS leader demanded that the government register cases against those responsible for the felling at the Palle Prakruthi Vanam. He called for strict punishment. Otherwise, he warned, resentment among villagers would intensify against the Congress.
