Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao paid tributes to Kasarla Padma, councillor of Ward 27 in Sircilla municipality, following her death due to a heart attack.
After learning about her death, KTR rushed from Hyderabad to Sircilla and visited the residence of Kasarla Padma. He paid floral tributes to her mortal remains and expressed his condolences to the bereaved family members.
Several BRS leaders and party workers also attended and paid their respects to the councillor.
Kasarla Padma had joined BRS in 2020
Kasarla Padma joined the BRS in 2020 in the presence of KTR. She contested the municipal elections that year from Ward 27 but did not win.
However, she later won the councillor election and represented the ward in the municipality.
Family members said she fell ill around 10 days ago. They shifted her to a private hospital in Karimnagar for treatment.
Doctors treated her at the hospital. However, she suffered a heart attack during treatment and died.
BRS town president Jindam Chakrapani, Municipal Chairman Jindam Kala Chakrapani, Vice-Chairman Darla Sandeep, members of the municipal body and party leaders expressed grief over her death.
She leaves behind two sons and two daughters.
