KTR condemns Mallu Ravi’s attack on BRS MLA, calls it assault on democracy

Hyderabad: BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao strongly condemned Congress MP Mallu Ravi for physically assaulting Alampur MLA and BRS leader Vijay. He called it a direct attack on democratic values. The BRS MLA has received widespread support from party leaders.

Taking to Twitter, KTR said the incident reflected Congress’s moral decline and its attempts to silence opposition through intimidation. He called the assault on an elected MLA a disgrace to public office. Moreover, he said it is proof of the Congress party’s disregard for democratic norms involving a BRS MLA.

“This is a public assault on democracy,” KTR said. He stated that Congress leaders had resorted to such tactics out of fear of the opposition’s voice. It highlights the challenges faced by a BRS MLA in the current political climate. He also accused the ruling party of dishonouring the Constitution, the law, and the values of democracy.

Demanding an immediate apology from Mallu Ravi, KTR urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to take moral responsibility and act on the matter. He warned that BRS would not remain silent if attacks on its leaders continued. In summary, the BRS MLA will continue to stand firm against such acts.

“Opposition must be countered through people’s mandate, not threats,” KTR asserted, condemning the incident in the strongest terms.
